Music Museum opens near North Grove to feature rare records
Horace Richardson will open his Music Museum to the public this Sunday at the Richardson farm south of the old North Grove rural school southeast of Nastings. The collection includes early phonographs and records built up over years in a showy display of rare items. A breeze shattered progress on Malvern school brickwork as plastic-covered scaffolding, tall on the west wall, blew away and caused damage. Nearby residents note several points of interest including the Glen Clark place and residents such as Gerald Bower Burdette Spiker Lente Powles Emery De Wit and N. P. Crink among others with a suggestion to tour rural areas for more rewards.

Mills Co tax levies await state rulings on school aid
Mills County officials expect state guidance within two weeks on how school aid formulas will affect property levies. County Auditor Glenn Johnson says county and city levies are set, with a likely drop in the county levy and small rises in some town levies. School districts Glenwood Malvern and Nishna Valley will carry a basic 15 mill levy, with state aid covering a large share of costs, potentially lowering levies in Glenwood while Malvern and Nishna Valley may see increases. Council Bluffs could see substantial declines once state figures are finalized. Johnson travels to Des Moines next week to meet tax officials for exact levy computations.
