Open house honors Mr and Mrs W R Bingham

Malvern couple Mr and Mrs W R Bingham will be feted at an open house in the Community building next Sunday December 5 from 2 to 5 pm. The event, hosted by their children, asks guests to call for fellowship and to refrain from gifts. The note recalls their 1919 marriage at the Hilton farm near Randolph and outlines their long farming life, moves, and six children listed by name and residence.

Susie Hall Bridal Shower Honoured at Vinton

Mrs Gary Vinton and Mrs Mick Tyner hosted a Friday afternoon bridal shower at the Vinton home for Miss Susie Hall of Tabor. Four Vehicle Crashes Reported in County

Sheriff Edwin Barkus notes four recent motor vehicle accidents in Glenwood area. Stephan Graber lost control on a gravel curve northeast of Glenwood at 11:30 a.m. Friday, car overturned into a ditch causing about 600 dollars in damage. A collision on Highway 34-275 two miles east of Glenwood at 10 a.m. Sunday involved Don Bruce Hastings and Patricia Ford Malvern. Bruce received a neck injury and was taken home after the rear impact by Ford. Dorothy Childs of Glenwood hit a parked pickup belonging to Wayne Wolverson of Des Moines in Silver City Sunday at 60 p.m., injuring her back and stomach and she was taken home. Albert Harris of Glenwood overturned on a gravel road east of Glenwood at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, suffering head and facial injuries.

Dennis Achenbaugh Receives ISU Bachelor Degree

Dennis Achenbaugh, a Henderson area graduate, earned a bachelor of science degree at Iowa State University Ames. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Darrell Achenbaugh and is listed among the university graduates in the Navy class of 22.

Funeral Services Held for Mary Vili mek Swoboda

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Mansfield Funeral Home for Mary Vili mek Swoboda 1 a Malvern resident for almost 60 years born in Moravia Czechoslovakia in 1905. She married Frank Swoboda in 1912 and with him ran a Malvern bakery. Survived by husband Frank three sons Daniel Malvern Paul Frank Omaha four daughters Florence Latin Omaha Marie Sowersby Fullerton Calif William Allen Los Angeles Calif Marjorie Kyhman Chicago 24 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Interment in Malvern cemetery.

Mrs. Ethel Kayton aged 84 died Tuesday in Shenandoah after a long illness. She was mother to Charles Kayton of the Strahan community. Funeral services were held Thursday at 10 30 a m at the Strahan United Methodist Church conducted by Rev Clarance Woollard with burial in the local cemetery.
