Death of Andrew J Russell Ends Long Mills County Life

Andrew J Russell a longtime Mills County resident died at his Glenwood home last Thursday after a lingering illness. Born November 8 1837 in Maine he moved to Glenwood in 1855 and married Minarah Hibbs in 1860. He served as a county official and trustee for the Glenwood school and was active in the local community. His funeral was held Sunday with the Masonic order in charge. He left a wide network among early pioneers and local families. Two Great Farm Shows at the Same

Two concurrent farm shows headline in Chicago during the National Dairy Show period. Special Train to State Fair Delights Malvern and Des Moines

A Burlington special train will run to the Iowa State Fair on August 26 27 and 28. It departs Pacific Junction Glenwood Malvern Hastings and Emerson at designated early times and arrives Des Moines at 10 30 a m. Return service leaves Des Moines at 6 15 p m August 26 27 and 28. The service aims to ease fair attendance for one day or more with departure from Malvern at 5 36 a m Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. W S Bell agent.
