Fifty-Seventh Fair Ends With Successful Show In Mills County
The fifty-seventh Mills County Fair closed Friday night after one of the largest night shows. Officials said crowds and exhibits were strong, though a small financial deficit may occur pending a full audit. Free acts, racing, and daily baseball entertained attendees, with notable acts by Josef Blank and company, Frank Verado and Vera Patt, Patrick and Reda Trio, and the Three White Kuhns. Burglars Take Four Suits From Randerson Store
Malvern burglars worked early Tuesday, leaving with four suits from Randerson. Nightwatchman Frazier spotted two suspects near the Wabash depot as a large white truck vanished over a hill. Guards, armed, stood by the old First National bank and Iowa State Savings, while Sheriff DeMoss and Deputy Cooney investigated possible clues at the Kunne and Nelson elevator and other sites.

Company I 188th Iowa Infantry departs Glenwood Saturday for Camp Dodge for a two week encampment.
