Marriage of Susan Morgan and William Baer at Chariton First Presbyterian

The July 2 ceremony at Chariton united Susan Morgan and William Baer with a daisy and babies breath themed altar. Rev. Frederick Mansfield officiated as the couple bowed to vows, then sang Wedding Prayer. A fellowship reception followed, with guests and family in attendance, future home in Chariton.

Couples to Hold Anniversary Dance in Malvern

1978 Nebraska reunion set for Fremont park on second Sunday

Julie Lynn Bowen, infant daughter of Doug and Julie Bowen, was baptized Sunday at St John’s Lutheran. Sponsors were Mrs Brad Davis and Gregory Jones. Dinner followed at the Bowen grandparents’ home. Attendees included extended family and local pastors and friends.

Genealogical Society Meets August 25 in Glenwood

Mills County Genealogical Society will meet at the Mills County Historical Building in Glenwood at 7 40 p m on August 25. The free membership prize at the county fair went to Ms Marjorie Swett of Malvern who stopped by the genealogy booth to register.

Funeral gathering spans cities and kin in village visit

City, Mo., called on his grandmother Mrs. Helen Quimby Sunday morning. Mrs. Fern Wallahan and son Bruce of Omaha visited Sunday afternoon. Art Hatfield of Colorado Springs returned to attend the funeral of his brother-in-law Melvin Walston. They plan to visit Delbert Sutton and Mae Scott at the village. Mrs. Joe Parker joined for dinner Monday at Mrs. Scott’s home.

Nishna Cottage Thanks Fair Guests and Supporters

Our workshop clients were guests of the Sidney Rodeo for an evening performance which was greatly enjoyed. We also thank the Mills County Fair Association for their kindness to our residents and those who stopped by our booth. Residents enjoy weekly shopping trips to Glenwood with the Road Runner.

Fair visit highlights 4-H exhibits and community antics

We attended the fair and saw 4-H steers flowers vegetables art quilts and furniture as well as people we knew. A helping hand aided seating mobility and even access to the rabbit exhibit. Blue ribbons were won. Frank Milley played harmonica on Thursday. Miss Margaret Morgan shopped Saturday with her sister. On Thursday Aug 11 NFO ladies hosted the August birthday party. We played bingo then enjoyed ice cream and cupcakes. Mrs Mary Carlstedt was away fishing.

Clarence Boos Will Be Honored Open House in Hastings

An open house is planned for friends and relatives of Mr and Mrs Clarence Boos at 7:30 PM Thursday at the United Methodist church in Hastings. They ran a Hastings grocery for several years and his father Reverend Clair Boos formerly pastored the church. Come join them for an evening of visiting.
