Malvern Board Sets Half Days for Kindergarten in 1972

The Malvern Board met August 2 1972 with President Washburn and four directors present. They approved half day kindergarten for town pupils in the morning and rural pupils in the afternoon for the first semester, decided no town pupils would be transported to or from school, accepted a $375 bid from Mac McConkey for Chantry school roof repair, and adopted the Hot Lunch free and reduced price policy. The board named Woodford R. Byington a Hearing Official for the program, authorized Title I funds application starting July 1 1972, and tentatively allocated $17 642 for FY 1973. The meeting adjourned with secretary Woodford R. Byington presiding.

Wheat Loan Rate Set For 1973 Wheat Program

The 1973 wheat program requires set aside of 86 percent of a farm’s domestic wheat allotment, with substitution options for feed grains and soybeans. Barley is included in the grain program. A payment bonus for additional set aside up to 150 percent of the 1973 allotment at 88 cents per bushel is offered to retire extra land. The 1973 loan rate is set at 1.25 per bushel, with loans available for farm and warehouse stored wheat. Certificates on allotment acres accompany eligibility for loans on all farm wheat if participation meets minimum set aside.
