Oats Harvest Yields Run High Across Local Farms
W G Bingaman started threshing last week and already struck heavy yields. He threshed oats at John Nellen’s and O A Strahan farm for about 2100 bushels from a field nearly eighty rods by two hundred ten rows, roughly ninety bushels per acre. Other farms report 70 to 80 bu per acre, with some 56 to 70 on oats and 126 on spring wheat.

Omaha’s National Advantages Again Recognized By Government
Omaha Nebr July 31 Nebraska and Omaha gain another official acknowledgment this time from the Federal Reserve Bank of the Kansas City district. The region will gain a branch while Wyoming is annexed to the Omaha territory after a prior misplacement in the Kansas City district. The reassignment follows recognition that placing Omaha and Nebraska in Kansas City distorted trade and was unsatisfactory. Nebraska and Omaha are coming into their own as the east begins to see the area as a distinct region with natural trade lines.

Mrs Elizabeth Dutch Rites Held In Council Bluffs
Mrs Elizabeth Dutch aged 42 wife of E P Dutch of 5642 Avenue C died yesterday afternoon after a two year illness from lung trouble. She had been in a Sioux City hospital and was brought home less than a week ago. A resident of Council Bluffs thirteen years she was a member of the Christian church. Survived by husband and four children Blanche Irma Robert C and John R Dutch all living at home. Funeral Monday at 10 at the family residence conducted by Rev Q O Stuckenbruck of the First Christian church. Body to be taken by auto to Malvern for burial.
