Malvern Wedding Opens With Candlelight Nuptials

Miss Sue Ann Shook wed Mr. Michael Roenfeld at United Methodist Church Malvern with Rev. Richard Viney officiating. Attended by maid of honor Deanna Behm and bridesmaids in apricot gowns. The ceremony included family, vows, and a reception, followed by plans to reside in rural Malvern.

UMW Spring District Meeting Set for April 20

The Council Bluffs District United Methodist Women's spring meeting will be held Tuesday April 20 in Broadway Methodist Church Council Bluffs from 1 39 to 3 30 pm A social tea will follow in the fellowship hall after the program Local women from 80 units are urged to attend The program will include communion led by District Supt Dr Bob Dodder music by Malvern elementary students and a message from Miss Gene Maxwell a Rocky Mountain Conference deaconess Special honor with membership recognition will be given Omaha UMW area guests and many officers plan to attend The afternoon session replaces an all day meeting to allow broader attendance.

DAR Entertained At Malvern Fete

DAR members met at the home of Mrs. Earl Bass in Malvern on April 6 with Mrs. Josiah F. Wearin and Mrs. Darrell Frederickson assisting. Delegates Mrs. H J Widows and Mrs. John Thomas reported on the Annual State Conference. Attending members included Mrs. Richard Estes, Mrs. Paul Johnson, and Mrs. G L Fickel. Mrs. Erma McMichael of Shenandoah spoke on the National Museum as State DAR Iowa Room Chairman.

Mielak announces engagement of Cindy to Bob Beattie

Mr and Mrs Clifford Mielak announce the engagement of their daughter Cindy to Bob Beattie son of Mr and Mrs James Beattie of Malvern Miss Mielak is a senior at Iowa State University and will graduate in May Mr Beattie is employed by Treynor Community Schools A June 5 wedding is planned at St Marys Catholic church in Grinnell Iowa.

Methodist Men Set Sunday Supper

Malvern United Methodist men plan a second Sunday night supper on April 25 at 6 p.m. A committee led by Bill Baer will prepare the meal and a special program is being arranged. About 55 people attended the first supper. Love Thy Neighbor club met April 7 at Bertha Angus’s home with Mrs. Ralph Bower as host and presiding, sharing show and tell items.

UMW Plans May Retreat and Breakfast Meeting
