Dickinson High School 1963 graduates plan a 25th reunion for June 48. Some classmates have not been reached. calls advised to Kay Harrigan or Mike Sanberg. 1962 and 1964 graduates invited to participate.
Dickinson Independent School District will shift to a summer schedule from June 6 to August 19, with campuses and central offices open 7 30 a m to 4 p m Monday through Thursday and 7 30 a m to noon Friday, aiming to save about 24 000 to 25 000 in electricity. Acting opportunities offered in Houston include UH Clear Lake Apprentice Acting Company starting June 23 for ages 13 to 18, meeting 10 a m to 4 p m on weekdays, culminating in a children’s show cast from the company.
Texas City La Marque Chamber of Commerce sponsors first arts and crafts fair with Mainland Springfest at Nessler Center grounds. Entries cost 10 dollars and are due by June 6. Applications available at Chamber office and local stores and crafts shops in area. Contact Lorrie or Grace for details.
Union Carbide Texas City plant rolls out Operation Safeguard branding across 18 safety and emergency vehicles including ambulances and fire units. The color stickers and door signs unite programs for Operational Safety, Personnel Safety and Health, Emergency Response and Environmental Protection to prevent mishaps and protect the community.
University of Houston Clear Lake Psychological Services will run three self-growth workshops in June and July. Advanced Assertiveness starts June 13 in four sessions weekly evenings with a $20 fee. Parenting workshop begins July 13 on two Wednesdays at 7 to 9 pm, $15 per person or $25 per couple. Stress Management is a July 26 evening seminar for $10. Location is St John Hospital Development Center Nassau Bay.
UHCL announces enrichment programs starting June 8 to teach French and German basics to Bay Area children aged 4 to 15. Sessions run Wednesdays over four weeks with no tests, limited to 10 per class, at $40 per four week session. Enrollment ends June 6. call 713-139-3151 for forms and details.
