today for new years Day but Well be open for business As usual on Jan 2 we do have a number of new videocassettes which were placed in the Library by the friends of the Library the new vhf format videocassettes include such titles As Dumbo and sleeping Beauty along with numerous other titles for children Young adults and adults with these new titles and the rotating collection we receive every two months we have from 7590 videocassette titles available videocassettes require a valid adult Library card to be checked out Story times will resume on Jan 28 Story times Are at and wednesdays in the Chionsini Community room children Ages 4 and 5 Are invited to attend registration is not required and there is no charge choose one of the times most convenient for you stories Are the same both enjoyed being Back in the Hawkins said the Counselor Are attempting to motivate students toward school and learning while giving them some valuable study tips and knowledge hopefully this time with Pur freshmen students will have a very positive effect on their mid semester and Endo year grades and give them some useful skills to carry with them to higher Hawkins said Story time planned league City the Helen Hall Library will offer a Story time program for 35 Jearolds on wednesday mornings at beginning Jan 14 and continuing through april 1 this half hour program includes books Felt Board named the out standing firemen of the year by the Volunteer fire department at Amoco Texas City refinery Brown is a charter member of the Volunteer organization which was formed 22 years ago he is As signed to the fire station where he conducts training courses and maintains department equipment refinery manager Lee san Heinrich fire chief marshal John Mclemore and superintendent of Plant Security Critz Cullen presented Brown with the award Dur ing the firemen banquet held earlier this month the banquet is an annual function where the Volunteer firemen get together to Honor their own Brown was selected from 55 volunteers who staff the depart ment this group is recognized throughout the Oil Indus by one of the premiere Volunteer fire departments in operation today the department protects Amoco barrel per Day refinery in Texas City and provides firemen and equipment to the area Indus trial Mutual Aid system fire chief Mclemore reports Brown was chosen to receive the Honor based on his High Atten dance percentage at callous Dur ing the year and his Superior attitude and ability Brown has dedicated himself to protecting the lives of his coworkers and the assets of his company his
