Hog farming urged to solve transport and market issues
Local observer Frank Korreet argues farmers should raise hogs to use grain at home and supply pork, keeping money in Crook County. He cites a grower with 30 head who turned grain into profit, selling hogs for 714 dollars last fall and forecasted 1200 dollars more this fall, with hogs fed on alfalfa then chop-fed before market.
