A new lime discovery by Cavaney and Walker four miles south of Haycreek near Madras is valued at at least 300 000 dollars. Assaying 96 5 percent pure lime across 100 plus acres, the solid rock forms a dike with vast potential. Local interest includes Sayre Hendricks and Loren G Savage with Portland lime expert Hollister predicting annual returns of 20 000 to 80 000 dollars if properly developed. A 75 barrel per day continuous kiln is under construction and plans include warehousing at Madras for market distribution.
