Phillips family poisoned by ptomaine at hotel

Mr and Mrs A F Phillips and three children along with guests Lloyd Hunter and Peter Marnach became sick after eating a meal at a hotel last Thursday evening. Dr Long diagnosed ptomaine poisoning with the onset overnight and the group recovered without serious complications.

Death of Lillie May Kirk on Agency Plains

Lillie May Kirk 28 wife of George Kirk and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Jones died at her mother’s home after a monthlong illness. Born April 30 1880 in Clackamas County she lived on a Crook County homestead with her husband and three children the oldest 10. The family mourns as she was unexpectedly stricken and was laid to rest in Gard Cemetery on Agency Plains last Monday.

Portland Interests Promise Assistance for Crook County Rail

Well Known Educator Dr Irving W Pratt Dies in Portland

Ki es Professor Irving W Pratt a longtime Portland resident and prominent Oregon educator died last Saturday evening at age 70 after a stroke months earlier. An active Mason and former inspector general of Oregon for the Scottish Rite he fathered Marti Pratt who once lived here and visited Pratt several years ago. He is fondly remembered by many who met him during that visit.
