The Dalles Optimist reports on Madras activity with homestead proofs by Simmings and Thee, visits by Dean Wolff and others, a new store plan by Mr Segal, stage service updates, church appointments, and residents moving between Culver, Shaniko, and neighboring ranches.
Th G oa W resident engineer I Maltras of the Lesebittes Railroad was seen at the county seat this week. Bend Henry Windom and daughter Mrs Jerry Barber were in town Monday to meet Mr Barber en route from the valley for a visit at Culver home. Mr and Mrs J W Livingston who sold most property interests at Madras last fall and moved to Vancouver Washington returned to Madras last Thursday. Since Jeainy city mayor and Mrs Livingston have taken an extended CA trip visiting their Oregon home and returned via Southern Pacific from Los Angeles to Oregon.
