Eastern Oregon Transportation Company Plan to Cut Freight Costs
The Eastern Oregon Transportation Company plans a road train service from Madras to Shaniko to haul heavy freight and wheat. A 70 horsepower traction engine with six wagons will carry over 100000 pounds per trip, moving about 2000 bushels of wheat at 2 mph and aiming for 24 hour trips. The venture promises lower rates, a new warehouse, and a distributing point for the south, with operation expected within 30 days.

Insurance money paid to widow of drowned man
