The Socialist county convention for Crook county Oregon is called to meet in the circuit court room in Prineville on Wednesday April 22 1908 at 10 am to nominate candidates for county offices at the next general election and transact other business. All persons in Crook county identified with the Socialistic movement are entitled to votes. Miss Clara Horney of Brook County High School Prineville captured the gold medal in the annual declamatory contest last Friday. Second place went to Miss Ethel Kidder, another Madras girl. Horney’s victory earns her entry to the inter state contest at Walla Walla Washington in May.

Grange Organizer Plans Local Union Meeting
A.A. Bonney state Grange organizer is in town to set up a local Grange. A meeting at Sanford's Hall was postponed due to poor advance notice, rescheduled for next Saturday evening. Bonney invites farmers and locals to attend, with equal admission for men and women and a 1 initiation fee for men. The State Grange meeting in May at Pugene will allocate representation by four Granges per seat, expenses covered. Bonney aims to organize several Granges in the county.

James Rice vice president of IL 8.401 Co. travels to Prineville this week with a well bred English Shire stallion to stand at Hamilton stables for service during nekt imonth. The stallion, four years old, is from the estate of Peter Stubbs of Glos England and was imported by the Haybreek company.
