London reports from Russian sources that unrest grows in Moscow where Pravda says a German peace may be at an end. Eighty political organizations were dissolved and about 5000 anarchists arrested there.
Senator La Follette asked the Senate Privileges and Elections Committee to dismiss disloyalty charges filed by the Minnesota Public Life Cocoa against him. He was represented by attorney Gilbert Leake who submitted a long brief as part of the proceedings in Washington.
A cyclone near Salina Kansas on May 210 killed five people including Alexander Geist his wife and three grandchildren and caused extensive damage. The storm's impact was severe with structural destruction and injuries reported.
London dispatch says French forces in Locre sector threaten German grip on Kemmel Hill near Ypres as Anglo French units press minor operations. German counterattacks break down amid heavy shelling around Arras and along Amiens fronts. Ex Grand Duke Nichole fled Crimea before German occupation.
Washington on May 11 reports Herman L. Copeland a Black man was captured after a gun battle in a house he had barricaded himself in. Four bullets hit him as two police officers and a deputy sheriff were wounded in the incident.
Amsterdam reports Von Richthofen leader of the National Liberals left wing told interviewers Germany foresees an honorable war end this year. The remarks emerged during a press visit in Amsterdam on May 21.
Washington reports the American tanker William Rockefeller has been lost at sea. Navy officials say there has been a loss of life and relatives are being notified, with formal announcement withheld pending details.
Fifty aero planes built for the government were destroyed in a blaze that gutted six buildings in San Francisco. The Fowler Aeroplane Corporation and the Emanuel Company, hardwood dealers, occupied the premises. Authorities found no enemy involvement.

Aims include a bigger Decoration Day with Elks Band music a parade led by Sidney Haigh and militia involvement. Hon F M Griffith to give the day’s address.
Indianapolis May 21 Former Vice President Fairbanks who is seriously ill at his home here was reported somewhat improved at noon.
Washington reports four casualties today with three killed in action. Lieut. Harry C. Colburn of Indianapolis died from an accident and Frank Roth of Fort Wayne was severely wounded.
Miss Zella Haskell died last night at the Denny Sanitarium and was taken by Undertaker Fred Scheer to her Brooksburg home above Morris Chapel. She was ill for some time and aged 33 on the first day of last March. She is survived by her brother Edward. Funeral services will be held at Morris Chapel Thursday at 2 a.m. with interment in Morris Chapel cemetery.
Invitations issued for the class of 1918 at The King's Daughters Hospital Training School for Nurses. Commencement will be Tuesday evening June 4 at eight o'clock in Elk's hall. Graduates are Miss Marjorie Stillhammer and Miss Ruth Deputy. The program includes songs, an invocation by Dr. W. W. Logan, a Florence Nightingale pledge recital, diploma and pin presentations, and a reception. The graduates depart for Indianapolis for state nurse examinations.
At a May 18 meeting of Madison township teachers the trustees decided to dispense with 8th grade graduation exercises for the class of 1918 to save costs in line with National Council of Defense guidance. The State Board of Education has ordered higher expenses for next year, so graduates will be notified later where to receive their diplomas.

Queen City to begin next Sunday with Indiana the following Sunday, both under the Mail Line. The start of Sunday transfers named meet the boat trips begins June 2. Wharfboat repairs paused due to ice but expected to resume and restore mooring within two weeks.
Mrs J B Starjey of San Diego formerly May Chapman daughter of Samuel J Chapman a Madisonian who lived here years ago visits her brother in McClainsboro Illinois and will visit cousin A S Chapman and wife before returning home. The noted magazine writer won $500 for most artistically decorated automobile at the San Francisco World's Fair and many former friends look forward to welcoming her back.
The bodys arrival from Rockville Indiana followed a two month illness. Accompanied by his wife and daughter Olive Waterfill the funeral will be led by Rev J W Moody at 730 PM. The burial will occur in Lawrenceburg Kentucky. The Waterfill family once lived in Frankfort Kentucky.
The will of Miss Mattie King of east Third street was probated by Emerson Lemen on George Kampe's testimony. She left $50 to Springdale cemetery for perpetual care of her half lot, the remainder to her aunt Mary E. King. Personal property includes over $1,100 cash. Mary E. King named executrix and qualified with bond. Emerson Lemen to handle estate matters.

LIEDRAL JOHNSON Lee Ord Johnson, 22, married, of Jennings county, drowned in Big Creek at Foster's ford while fishing with Charles Fitch and Henry C Means. They attempted to reach shore in deep water. Johnson sank. Body recovered by locals. Coroner Burdsal ruled accidental drowning. Remains were sent to Jennings county for funeral.
The Ghent Methodist Episcopal Church South broke ground for a parsonage funded by the late J. W. Haggins Jr. and church donations. Completion is expected by August 1. Earl F. Tibbetts is named manager of the Ford garage by owner Penn Maddox and brings years of sales and auto experience.
The local exemption board recorded call 534 for one county man to entrain for Camp Hancock Georgia on June 1 for repairmen gunsmiths instrument makers and gun factory operatives. Harry Shoulders of Dubois County Indiana was examined and qualified for service.
Samuel George of Franklin was appointed by Governor Goodrich to fill a vacancy on the food committee of the State Council of Defense, succeeding the resigning Ralph W. Moss. George is brother of Charles George and son-in-law of Mrs. Allen Miles. his wife was Miss Sarah Daily.
