In Peoria the estate of Geo K. was placed under bankruptcy proceedings led by referee Harry Ea. Three trustees were named but creditors urged only one trustee to close the matter. Judge Curran advised the move, and Runkle’s attorney now seeks rapid administration to protect unsecured creditors.

Chicago Sept 22 A mass meeting to demand work or federal unemployment allowance equal at least to 75 percent of current wages will be held Sunday afternoon in Washington Square Park. The Amalgamated Metals Workers of America sponsor the event in support of a congressionally submitted relief program proposing a minimum of 20 dollars per week for the unemployed funded by a tax on salaries and incomes over 5000 sourced from non productive sources.
Mr and Mrs Oscar Swenson of Pittsburgh have arrived to visit Mr and Mrs Harvey Humbert, longtime Bushnell residents. The couple will remain a week and Swenson, formerly a Bushnell pitcher in the I M League, is noted for his past playing career.
Workmen are improving Chandler park sidewalks with straightened concrete paths. The former route from the passenger depot around the bandstand site is now updated, with slabs relaid to form a straight walk. Equally, brick walk depressions are being raised to improve drainage after rains.

Springfield September 24 Former United States senator L Y Sherman is urged to run for the Illinois state senate from the Springfield district. If he enters he will align with Brundage anti Small forces. State Senator Wheeler plans re election. Sherman and Wheeler are old political enemies signaling a hot contest.
The Macomb Agricultural Fair received a telegram from Art Chevrolet requesting entry of his Frontenac racing car in a forthcoming local race on the track within two weeks. A definite date isn’t set, but could be next Tuesday, with the large purse drawing other top drivers to what may be a historic contest.
Andy Campbell a longtime worker at St Francis hospital remained calm after a Ford roadster struck the survey he was driving. The other driver fled the scene and Campbell continued along the east side of the square without apparent injury.
Precator Illinois September 22 Knights of Pythias state convention closed at noon. After five years of effort the term of local officers was extended from six months to one year.
Father Peter Paul Aeanders aged 67 and a founder of Venice Illinois died at Granite City Tennessee after an illness said to be brought on by overwork. He was known as an author musician linguist and prominent local figure.
A Springfield hearing denied Wyoming officers' request to remove Ben Conelly for wife abandonment charges. He was released after the session. Attorney T. K. Switzer appeared for Conelly, who had been held for a week.
Danville report notes William McClure aged 93 and last of the Mexican War veterans at the national soldiers home died this morning. He lived at the home in Danville.
Loren Burford Jessie Way Archi e Booth and Elvin Reynolds all Colchester youths charged with theft of auto casings pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property valued at 150 dollars. Probation petitions signed by 97 residents seek release under probation. Two others remain in prison. others await trial. Grand Jury adjourned with divorce and alimony actions noted.
