Abuse of the circuit court session drew a large crowd as charges of cruelty and desertion against wives were heard. Testimonies cited infidelity, letters, and intimate affairs with several witnesses describing misconduct. verdicts included contested custody and alimony issues. Grand jury indictments target Bushnell burglary cases

The McDonough county grand jury, active since Monday, filed a partial report naming indictments for Fred Mitchell W H Speed Conroy and Clyde Dickerson accused of robbing Bushnell businesses. Also indicted were Chas Frakes Cyrus Young E L Davis and Fred Howard with bonds set at 2000 each, suspected of thefts including chickens from St Francis Hospital and a Rushville area auto accessory theft. Some suspects released on bonds await trial. others remain under secrecy while more cases may be indicted.

Ford Car Stolen and Recovered Near Colchester

A Ford belonging to McDonough County Coal Co was stolen from in front of a Colchester hotel last evening and found abandoned on South McArthur street in Macomb. Owner numbers matched, suggesting local youths missed a train and used the car to return home. Sheriff’s office investigates. Royal Morrow of Norman Oklahoma visiting Teachers College. He is staying with brother Tony.
