Springfield reports Otto Bottin, 27, former Farmers National Bank bookkeeper, indicted for pilfering over 4 600 dollars from teller cages over three years and facing trial in Peoria the first week in November. He allegedly deposited stolen cash to his own account and used the money for personal luxuries.
Mr and Mrs L L Bugg who live on the Strick land farm east of Macomb have purchased the Stevens farm northeast of Colchester and will move there soon. They plan to continue gardening on a larger scale.

Topeka Kansas October 21 Governor Henry Allen announced that if a railroad strike becomes effective the state government will operate lines within Kansas under the Kansas industrial court law. Railroad managers will be given an opportunity to operate the roads first. Chicago packers began storing fresh meat for emergency use in case of a strike, with preparations to stock the chief distributing centers.
Charles Carey, of this city, released on bond after being accused of robbing Fred Hateh, ex soldier of Plymouth, at Holmes hospital. Bond of 1500 signed by sister Mrs Willey. Case to be examined by January grand jury. Also Mrs Edgar Gash injured after a fall at the post office steps with hip pain but no broken bones.
A local man named Willey fires a shotgun at passing switchmen near his home in Billingsville. Rail workers report such shootings as common, with Willey seen on the tracks again the next morning but no one injured.
Mr and Mrs Heart Chockley of north of Industry welcomed a daughter born October 17. Mr and Mrs Homer Carey of the Wells addition Macomb welcomed a son born October 16 named Junior.
The Aviation Minstrels produced by Turner Production for the local American Legion Post drew a full audience last night. A chorus of attractive singers and strong solos, backed by the Illinois orchestra, thrilled attendees with lively numbers and clever humor.
Buerkin and Buerkin of Quincy hold the contract to erect a three story residence for Morris Bros shoe factory owners to house their workers. Harve Conelly has completed the excavation and construction will proceed rapidly. Morris Bros recently bought the Dallam residence at Carroll and Campbell streets for worker housing.
J F Putt buys the 500 block East Carroll Street property from Mrs Shannon and will occupy it. He has sold his G D Tunnielift home on West Carroll Street to I M Elwell for about 115000.
