Kenneth Lawyer of South McArthur street in Macomb a Knox College student was first to report a burglary at Beta Theta Pi house 866 North Cherry street Galesburg. Seven watches and about 15 in change vanished while rooms on the second floor were ransacked and doors were left unlocked. Police are investigating after a neighbor heard noises around 130 am and the thief likely gained entry through a side door. Novelties of 1920 will feature Boyle Woolfolk and Max Bloom at the Illinois theatre October 26th.

Prominent Davenport Man Leaps 70 Death
Davenport Iowa October 20 Fred Vermentin Jr prominent business and civic leader jumped into the Mississippi River this morning and drowned. He had been under watch at home after a nervous breakdown and drove his car in night clothes and bare feet to the river bank where he parked on the main Burlington railroad track and leaped into the water. An earlier accident report named Perry Hay and Roscoe Ehrhart as participants. Ehrhart suffered a fractured finger and minor injuries while Hay paid the doctor bill and covered medical expenses.
