Rushville Man Fined for Concealed Weapon at Depot

Murphy of Rushville was arrested at the Burlington depot in possession of a loaded 45 caliber Colt auto. Before Judge Wessling he paid a fine of 425 and costs. Also noted is a hunting trip departure for George Allison, Senator Buck, Mrs Bradford and others.

Concrete well platform collapses damaging windmill scene

A concrete platform six feet by a foot thick collapsed into a well on the Jim Robeson farm along Route Six, trapping water and debris but sparing the family and dog, who were away at the time. The accident occurred at night as the platform fell between the well walls, narrowly missing the house.

Animal rescued after platform collapse incident

A morning mishap left a platform on its side with a hollow opening above water. The animal stood in the opening and was pulled to safety by a rope after likely hearing the collapse noise and moving toward the sound.

Oil Well Drilling Near Sciota Promises Showdown This Week

Infantile Paralysis Case Reported in Macomb

A six year old girl Dorothy Frowein of West McDonough street was diagnosed with infantile paralysis after several days of tonsillitis. Dr Miner stated he advised notifying the state board of health for an expert from the health authorities to arrive tonight or tomorrow. The case is not deemed highly serious yet outcomes of such cases remain uncertain.

Stand Collapse Injures Dozens At Legion Parade

Ten sections of a grandstand at the American Legion parade collapsed in Decatur Det before the start injuring about 45 people. Five are in serious condition and several others sustained leg and ankle fractures with multiple bruises. Inflamed eye sends Mrs Dixon to doctor

Mrs Peter Dixon of Low Randolph Street suffers a badly swollen inflamed eye after a foreign body scratched the eyeball. She is treated by physicians and expected to recover.
