In Lead Hill, Arkansas, Oct 8, 21 year old Allison Stinnett shot and killed Boyd Ridinger 27, a Bradley's Ferry farmer, one day before his planned marriage to Jodie Clarkson. The fatal shot came from a 41 caliber revolver above the heart after a broken engagement and news he would wed another woman.
Macomb loses a fire truck after a seven ton unit suffers a smashed left rear wheel on a tight turn near Pace hotel. While repairs are ordered, the old horse wagon attached to the Ford truck will handle calls. The blaze at Lon Thorpe's home burned only papers, and the department was outpaced before arrival.

Miss Grace Hicks and Miss Gertrude Wakefield finished their nurses training at Holmes hospital and are available for private cases. Hicks departs tonight for Chicago to care for the daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Holly for six weeks. the Hollys are former Macomb residents.
Grubb and his wife sold the Tokyo and Grand theatres in the city to Porter and Myers of Champaign. They will travel in a Hudson coupe via Springfield and Beardstown to San Antonio for the winter. Harold Younglove of Champaign manages the theatres for the new owners.
In disposing of his show interests, Mr. Grubb says arrangements keep him out of Macomb show business for at least a year before proceeding to Pecos City and San Antonio, Texas.
William G. Lee president of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen says a general strike is unlikely. He notes some railroads might strike, but doubts the probability.
