Greenwood citizen C E Wright killed in railroad yards
C E Wright a Greenwood Mississippi businessman, 58, was instantly killed when struck by a switch engine in Henderson Street railroad yards. The accident, with no witnesses, occurred as the engine backed off a compress switch. Wright, born September 11 1862 in Macomb Illinois, had lived in Greenwood for 28 years and built a large ice bottling coal business.

Judge Grier of Monmouth occupied the local circuit court bench during a short session today and referred two cases to masters. Harris vs Hammond, involving an estate dispute, went to Master Wallace A Walker, while Compton vs Morrow, an old case, went to Special Master Eugene Hampton. Judge Waggoner then denied a new trial in Miller vs Ernst, where the plaintiff was awarded 7000 dollars. Thirty days were allowed to file bonds of 7500 for appeal in the second district. sixty days for a bill of exceptions.

Typhoid Patient Brought Home From Academy
