Washington October 1 Senator Borah Republican of Iowa asked Chicago and New York headquarters to stop his campaign speaking dates. He declined to discuss the telegram. Harding said Republicans are united on League and progressivism and predicted Taft and Roosevelt supporters would aid the campaign.
Four inmates escaped McDonough County Jail last night using a hole in the window bars and a homemade ladder from an outside ledge. The men were Danley of Macomb Monninger of Good Hope Wilbur Scott of Good Hope and Ernest Warden of Augusta.
