Fatal blaze under investigation near Abingdon kills two train crew

Two Monmouth men, engineer John Coyle and brakeman Richard Hewitt, were killed when an eastbound freight train plunged through a burning trestle four miles west of Abingdon. Fireman Roy Needham escaped, walked to Abingdon for help, and the wreck damaged five cars. Authorities dispute whether the fire started from sparks or foul play.

Narrowly Escapes Loss of Fingers at Bakery Work
