State Manager Will Robb notes all schools will enter the district meet with 4 teams likely. events run March 10 11 12 at area sites as petitions from Macomb and others await state decision.
Rumors describe a mysterious woman in black prowling near the Porcelain works and asking to use phones. An incident between here and Colchester involved a suitcase containing a black coat and hat, followed by a strange group seen on railroad ties. Some people link the events to Macomb's woman in black.
Farm Bureau directs shelling bees with corn donated to aid Europe. Townships including Bushnell March 3, Adair March 5, Blandinsville March 8, Macomb March 9, Sciota March 10, with chairmen Blandinsville Marion Herzog, Hire Bert Bean, Tennessee Geo Foley, Bethel Ernest Hinton listed in the meeting notes.
Pupils of Cardon V. Burnham will present another concert at the Illinois Theatre next Sunday at 3 o clock in the afternoon. The performances have drawn large crowds and the program will be announced later in the week.
The Democratic county central committee will meet Saturday March 5 at 1 PM in the court room to select delegates to the Fourth Judicial district supreme court and the Ninth Judicial district circuit court conventions. Mrs F S Battson of Macomb hosts the South district convention on March 15. Also noted is news of Mrs Pattson's sick husband and Lily Morris.
S. J. Tompkins and M. Keys, internal revenue men, are in Macomb this week to help residents file income tax schedules. They will be at the post office daily and invite all who seek information or assistance to call on them.

Illinois considers a bill making it a misdemeanor for banks to handle convertible securities over 10 000, with fines or six months in jail. The house judiciary committee referred impeachment charges against Federal Judge Landis to a sub committee with instructions to report tomorrow.
Bandits blew the Grove City Bank safe with nitroglycerine at 2 o clock this morning and escaped with 1000 dollars. Local police investigate the robbery as Acenciated Press reports from Taylorville dated March 1.
Flay Dunham of Hannibal Missouri, deserting after four years in the navy, walked into the McDonough county sheriff’s office seeking arrest. Deputy Wilson detained him as he explains mistreatment and desire to turn himself in. A $50 reward is offered for his arrest and return to a naval barracks, likely Great Lakes, with Dunham still in county jail.
Riga reports rumors that Soviet authorities in Petrograd have been overthrown. The Moscow rumor says the capital has fallen, but the message is unconfirmed and circulating as word of mouth.
Rear Admiral Cary T. Grayson, President Wilson's personal physician, was ordered by the navy to be officer in charge of the rival dispensary in Washington.
Frank Carnahan, a prominent local auto mechanic, bought the lease on the building at 509 West Jackson Street formerly used by Macon Auto Paint Co. and opened a garage there today. The managers of the auto paints company have not decided their next move.

Washington March 1 The Senate Judiciary Committee adopts a resolution directing Secretary Houston to produce complete Treasury files of correspondence on foreign loans. The measure is described as a virtual subpoena. Senator Reed says Houston should be cited for contempt if papers are not produced and the Senate may act.
The eighth district Illinois State Nurses Association met in Galesburg at the Elks Club with nurses from Quincy Macomb Monmouth Table Grove and Galesburg. By laws were revised. A dinner for 33 followed then readings by Natalie Giddings and a child welfare talk by Dr. Louis N. Tate. Louise Sinclair played violin solos. Next meeting planned for April in Monmouth.
