Central Illinois Hit by Violent Wind and Storm Damage
A severe wind and electrical storm struck central Illinois including Springfield during the night of June 13, causing extensive damage. McDonough County Farm Bureau will have a float in the DeKalb Farm Bureau Decennial Celebration pageant on June 30. Two thousand northern Illinois farm folks are training as actors to depict ten years of farm home progress with lights and furnaces. The Northern Illinois Normal School grounds at DeKalb serve as the stage with up to fifteen hundred actors appearing at times, and an estimated crowd of about fifteen thousand is anticipated.
