Austrian Man Sentenced for Farmington Train Wreck

Galesburg Ill June 30 Mat Majetich an Austrian was found guilty of wrecking the Chicago Burlington and Quincy passenger train No 52 near Farmington October 11 1919 The jury sentenced him to not less than 14 years in the penitentiary The wreck killed engineer John J Faulk and left the engine overturned The trial lasting three and a half days featured circumstantial evidence and claims Majetich acted with I W W ties and revenge The case began August 6 1920 and ends with today verdict unless a motion for new trial is granted
