In Versailles a swift execution ends the life of Henriette Landru, the infamous Bluebeard. After a tense night, Landru faces the guillotine at six, refuses the sacrament, and dies within twenty seconds, maintaining firm composure.
Reports tie the Desmond Taylor murder to a changing tale about a $1,000 bill and an earlier suspect. Separately, contractor Albert E. Maguire begins a five year project rebuilding thirty two kilns at Macomb Sewerpipe Company west plant, demanding 5,120,000 bricks for full reconstruction.
An employee in the insular affairs division was arrested amid a probe into threats of harm to Washington officials. Investigators say letters demanding money were sent over the past weeks, with possible outcomes including death threats if demands were not met.

Monmouth February 25. Business prospects with the Western Stoneware Co are growing so bright that preparations are made to open the main shop of the No 2 plant in this city next Monday. Machinery was started this morning and by tomorrow night should be ready to operate Monday morning with a full force expected soon.
Ralph C. Foster of Blandinsville was named conservator of the estate of his mother, Mrs. Margaret Foster, in county court yesterday. The petition was voluntary.
