A one year old named John Jennings is reported missing while en route to Keokuk, NGA authorities issue N01 Lost notice. Police ask the public to report any information leading to the child's location.
Thirteen year old John Kings Jr of near Smith is found by a search party along Road 2 near LaHarpe after days of wandering. He rode with Sam Dark from Colchester to Bland while telling of punishments at home and his plan to go to Keokuk. Community searchers from several towns aided his return to his father.
The boy admitted he had not eaten since leaving home except raw field corn and fed the dog. After a long search by anxious relatives, he was found around 4 o'clock yesterday. The father wept with relief as the boy claimed his departure was for adventure, not mistreatment.

A letter to Mrs. Grove says Plymouth oil well driller Mike Callihan is in critical condition in Marion Indiana after an accident. The message cites severe injuries to the breast and back and notes he is kept under opiate influence. Callihan had arrived with the oil boom and his marriage to Miss Grove widened his circle of friends.

Washington December 4 The American government nears limits of concessions to the Allies at the international communications conference regarding the disposition of former German cables. A commissioner said negotiations have dragged on with no immediate sign of an agreement.
Argentine foreign aviator Honorio Bueyredon handed Paul Hymans, president of the League of Nations assembly, a letter announcing that Argentina has ceased participation in the league. Geneva report notes an amendment to the covenant eliminating Argentina.
Article 10, the most noted section of the pact, was introduced in the assembly today by Charles Doher ty, Canadian minister of justice. The amendment will probably be referred to the committee on amendments.
Local post office urges patrons to use enough stamps as letters with one cent stamps fail to travel. Especially with party invitations responses, handwritten notes require two cents instead of a penny, unlike printed matter.

Boxers from Macomb and nearby towns will participate after a thorough pre bout medical examination. The event aims to promote clean boxing with support from veterans groups and potential state boxing legislation.
Miss Lillian Winter of Bardolph swallowed a hairpin while dressing her hair and was taken to a Rock Island hospital where an operation was performed to remove the obstacle. The pin was not found during the first surgery and a second was considered, but her condition remains grave and survival is feared.
