The Commercial club pool table ordered recently arrived this morning and is being installed today in the billiard room.
Keneth Pennington of Industry and Carl Clark of Scotland township will represent the county at the State Fair school in Springfield this week. The pair will be under Supt. P. H. Hellyer of Lewistown and receive instruction from University of Illinois faculty in two sections with options in poultry keeping agricultural bookkeeping and live stock judging. They will tour fair exhibits and local sites and return with potential honors. Mrs Revy Zimmerman of Colchester and Miss Josie Guy of Macomb will join a Domestic Science school contingent when its open period arrives later this month.
A long lost deed for a tract of land in Industry township, recorded thirty years ago, was discovered by County Recorder Wm. B. Martin after a patient search. The paper had been issued by D. E. Vail to Enoch Vail, who bought the land but vanished from their records.
The Antwerp Olympic events closed amid rain with Americans leading in points scoring. Unofficial standings show United States 210, Finland 105, Sweden 95, England 92, France 35, Italy 28, Africa 24, Canada 10.
A man called Mr. Martins office seeking a traced document. Using instrument 93 107, Martins staff located the missing deed among dusty deeds on a high shelf. The file shows the deed remained in office and was not mailed after filing. Since that deed, 78 613 more deeds have been recorded.
Five liquor cases arising from information filed by State's Attorney A. L Hainline were resolved this morning. Three defendants Herbert Wayland Joe Kipling and Chas Nelson of Colchester paid 50 dollars and costs totaling 71 dollars 10 cents each and were released. Lloyd Walley and Frank Green of Hamilton had their cases dismissed. Harley E Dunham of Augusta faces trial next Wednesday on a false pretenses charge after writing a bad check. Elmer Predmore of Bardolph posted bond on a forging charge linked to his employer Grover Holler of Bardolph.
Prof. T. W. Everitt of Bushnell met Gordon Mealiff in St. Francis hospital yesterday. Mealiff is under treatment for injuries suffered a week after a car carrying his family was struck by a train near Camp Point, five of his relatives were killed.
Warsaw reports bottling up Soviet forces along the Prussia Vistula line with heavy prisoner and material captures. One Polish division took 5000 prisoners and 12 guns as Bolshevik forces retreat under Polish advance. Washington warns Poland not to push beyond Polish ethnographic borders. Paris notes foresee Polish victory and 75000 Soviet prisoners overall.
Lydia Edmonson returns from Chicago where she shopped for hats and trimmings for her millinery store. The Chicago market she reports is full of stylish items for women this year. Miss Catherine Casey accompanied her and will assist this season in Macomb.
Arthur Knight shipped a car of hogs to the Chicago market today. The animals were a fine lot, all white and fed by Knight.
