Racing accident injures billiard hall owner in ditch crash

Dallas City April 18 Ez ra Cox billiard hall owner suffered a fractured arm when the Ford he rode in overturned into a ditch during a race with John Welborn driving against Joe Fisher in a Chevrolet. Two wheels collapsed and Cox was the only injury.

Wrestlers Ready for Go Tonight at Holmes Park

Waterworks Bond Issue and Election Move Forward

Bardolph High Names Declamer for County Meet

Miss Lamotte Morley won honors in the declamatory contest at Bardolph Community High School earning the school’s representative to the county meet at Teachers College Saturday. Miss Trelen Maxwell placed second and Miss Jessie Dunlan third. Judges were Superintendent Reeves and Miss Fennessy of Avon, with Superintendent Hunter of Prairie City consulting.

Child drinks kerosene. Caldwell infant seriously ill

A two year old girl, Jeanette Caldwell of near Industry, drank kerosene with unknown amount while eating candy. Her four year old sister Thelma is suspected of supplying it. Jeanette’s condition was critical but officials fear for recovery. Thelma is recovering.
