Bethel Gospel Chapel marks its first anniversary with a Sunday service led by Rev C Walker Manitoba District Superintendent Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Church site purchased in September with basement work complete, services held at the pastor’s chapel until construction. Guest soloist Mrs Elsie Will Rural Municipality of Portage will perform with others in song and music.

Two ceremonies marked a weekend of weddings in MacGregor. Harm on Wong and Sherman Adair Harmon wed on October 19 before Rev C A King and Rev C D Rupp, with receptions for about eighty guests. Mary Giesbrecht and Peter Wiebe exchanged vows October 15 at MacGregor Mennonite Church, in a Dutch ceremony led by Rev J Loewen with a reception and later silver wedding anniversary celebrations for the bride’s parents.
Gladys Evelyn Lowes married Clarence Stanley Giles at the bride’s mother’s home on October 4. The service was led by Clayton with James Wilfred giving the bride in marriage. The couple plans a Kenora home after a Brandon MacGregor honeymoon. Guests included Mrs Braybrook and Garnet Wright Jr.
The high school charter reports a 4 2 loss in a boys soccer game with MacGregor and Carberry. Garnet Critchlow Dennis Lamb and Ben Ward contribute goals. A Gladstone rugby match results in a 9 6 comeback. Room activities include Red Cross Society formation and daily news program. social plans feature a Halloween Masquerade Ball on October 31 with faculty and students urged to attend. Marlene Walker Heather Fotheringden Ronald Kirshner Jack Giles listed in roles. Welcome back Mary Chant and new student Earl Wedel join the school community. Pete McGregor, former hockey hero, is in Flin Flon trying out for the hockey team.
