Thomas Graham of Beaver Creek district Manitoba is remembered in a large MacGregor funeral. Born in Ontario in 1877 he homesteaded in Beaver after a Red River voyage and ox cart journey. He was a trusted farmer, community helper, school builder, and friend to many, leaving five daughters and five sons and a wide circle of relatives.

Als or U0 venesade Oils Ltd announced an initial payment of 34 cents per pound for No 1 dry sunflower seed Surise variety, one half cent higher than last year. A further payment will follow after crushing next spring. Frost free conditions and cool summer may lower seed content, with a 200 pounds per acre quota likely to hold for a few weeks as growers prepare for December processing. A 2.90 per 190 pounds payment was made on the IVA crop and an additional $190 was earned in 1949 Browers, with more reallocations expected in coming months.
