Statue of the White Horse Becomes Manitoba Attraction
A floodlit white horse statue near Winnipeg memorializes The Legend of the White Horse Plain. Erected by the Manitoba Tourist Association, it narrates a 1690s Assiniboine Cree Sioux marriage tale. The legend, little explained, draws both locals and tourists seeking its meaning.
