Three carload farmers from Carberry Justice and Portage la Prairie toured Grand Forks Grafton and Walalla in North Dakota and Winkler Man last week to learn about potato production. More than one thousand men and women from across Central Manitoba join the annual Children’s Aid Society drive. Campaign chair Mrs. F Bogue confirms an $20,000 goal with calls planned October 8 to 14 amid crop and road conditions affecting giving. Districts including Bagot Burnside Katrinne and Rosendale are led by local volunteers to expand canvassing.

Summer Swimming Awards At Hidden Valley Lake
The YMCA program at Hidden Valley Lake hosted a summer swimming awards event from July 19 to August 30 1961 led by Wm Lee instructor and George Halkyard assistant. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from MacGregor United Church for William Anderson the district s oldest citizen who died Sunday in MacGregor hospital at age 97 born in Pembroke Ont in 1867 he married Jane Phillips who predeceased him in 1897.
