The first anniversary of the MacGregor Memorial Hall featured a well attended Fowl Supper with hundreds from town and district enjoying a bountiful meal. Net profit reported as 346.20 after expenses including chicken, picture show, advertising and coffee. A semi annual Curling Club meeting is set for Nov 13 at 8 pm to discuss the upcoming season.

Portage Auctioneer Killed in Train Crash
Portage la Prairie auctioneer Louis Chartrand was killed near Portage 20 miles east when his car was struck by a westbound CNR passenger train. He had stopped at the crossing and the car moved into the locomotive’s path. Paul Moseyton of Portage escaped injury.

A joint remembrance service will be held at Memorial Hall on Sunday November 12 at 730 p.m. The Legion and other wreath placing groups will meet at 7 p.m. for a cenotaph procession then return for the service conducted by Rev.
