Egg Prices Down For Few Months In Manitoba
Poultry specialist Ross Cameron of the Manitoba Department of Agriculture and Conservation says egg prices will ease for several months with more grade A medium and small eggs on the market. Large eggs remain ample year round due to heavy fall production, better transport and storage. Pullet flocks start laying in November, eggs start small and grow to grade A large by midwinter. A Ready Reckoner price chart helps consumers compare grade A large with smaller grades.

Noted 105 year old miner recalls front line service and wide travels
Halifax based 105 year old John Baptiste Winclose recalls a lifetime as an engineer, prospector and soldier who came from Belgium in 1892 to Canada to help open mines. He served in World War I at Passchendaele Cambrai and Arras, started several Atlantic Province mines, and even helped open a Congo gold mine. He remains a non drinker, claims his father lived to 120, and notes bronchitis blamed on gas exposure. Nearby scenes describe tremors in south Lancashire blamed on the Pendleton Fault.
