Custer Boy Injured After Horse Throws Him at Fair
Lon Morgan son of A J Morgan of Custer suffered a broken collarbone when a horse he was riding at the Fair Grounds track tossed him. A knee struck him and he lay unconscious for a considerable time before aid arrived.

Lynden Girl Graduates From Nurses Training School
Miss Henrietta Bronsema graduated Tuesday evening from the Nurses Training School at St. Luke's Hospital as part of a class of four. Lynden residents attended the exercises and the group posted higher state examination grades than any previous class.

Westminster fair official visits Lynden exhibition
Angove of Summerland British Columbia who led fruit exhibits at the New Westminster Fair toured the Whatcom County Fair as guest of the Rev Charles Baker. He praised the Lynden exhibit especially the fruit displays and county roads and plans a longer Lynden stay after Wednesday visit.

Lynden Valuation Up Leads Whatcom County Gain
Lynden is the sole Whatcom County city to report a higher 1921 valuation than 1920 with a gain of 46 500 bringing its total to 608 602. County totals show a 1 772 190 loss as Bellingham Blaine Ferndale Nooksack and Sumas fall while Lynden adds new dairy and egg plants and several buildings. The Whatcom County Fair opens on Lynden grounds with aerial stunts auto polo horse races bike races and county school events drawing large crowds through Saturday.

Waterfront paving near completion opens November first
The final concrete link on the Waterfront highway was poured Sunday marking near completion of paving. Remaining gaps will close once the roadbed permits, with curbing and 7 200 feet of drain tile to finish the contract. The road may reopen by November first, with widening near Blanchard possibly delaying completion by a month.

Display of thousands in cattle buildings at fair
Livestock valued in the thousands is shown in the cattle, horse, sheep and swine buildings. Cattle barns are crowded with entries and competition is keen. The Smith Holstein herd from Sumas is dispersed but substitutes fill the gap. The swine wing is crowded with overflow pens. Northwest poultry show at capacity crowds
The Whatcom County Fair hosts the largest and most varied poultry display yet in the region. Superintendents Ray Slade and Harry Beernink report full bunks and extra beds to accommodate exhibitors led by J. H. Warrington of Cornwall Ontario with 230 birds. The grounds feature bantams, silver and golden pheasants, and every Noah's ark variety.
