A Lynden meeting of thirty athletes and fans formed the Lynden Athletic Association to sponsor a winter basketball team and a next summer baseball squad. The group will remain amateur with no salaried players and aims for 100 members, charging a $5 fee for the 1922 season.
Lynden Creamery's Lynden plant of the Whatcom County Dairy Men's Association is nearing 100000 pounds of receipts per day with October totals well over ninety thousand pounds. On October 11 the plant processed 9269 pounds, the highest total yet, while milk is churned into butter and skim milk turned into powdered milk for sale. The association plans a bond retirement call from funds on hand. Visitors Jasper and John Van Rossum arrived from Bremerton, seeking a Lynden location, with possible relocation.
North Pacific coast shows Thursday rain with fried southerly winds. California coast expects Thursday fair conditions. General northerly winds noted offshore.
The Lyndon Baptist Young People's Union meeting at the First Baptist Church Sunday evening endorsed the school board action enforcing the state law on attendance at public dances. The resolution praised enforcing the age limits and offered assistance to support the school board in its duties.
The Arthur M. Riddle property on Front Street near Sixth was sold to William Frothingham of Cal la Falls by Lynden Pioneer Realty Company. George Taylor bought it from Riddle last week and sold to Frothingham. the Riddles move to Bellingham this week.
Lynden poultrymen will get a four percent semi annual dividend on all common stock paid up to Jan 1 1921 in the Washington Cooperative Egg and Poultry Association. Dividend was approved by the board Tuesday with D W Bender Lynden director attending the Seattle meeting. Time changes noted for First Baptist Church services with Sunday 7 30 PM preaching B Y P U at 6 30 PM and midweek meetings at 8 PM. A surprise party for Mrs Harry Mack was held Thursday at Mrs George Waples home with guests including Mrs McKay and Mrs Frank Blonden of Bellingham.
Ruth Mine Vernon Mowbray and Clarence Mowbray enrolled as freshmen and sophomore respectively. Friday interclass results favored senior and sophomore teams and four winners advance to Friday night games. Next week has two school days due to Teachers Institute after Tuesday. Juniors host Halloween masquerade for freshmen next Tuesday evening with Rev Harrison invited to speak at today's program.
The Tribune will publish a series of prize winning blue ribbon Lynden County fair recipes from Mrs. Phoebe Judson and others. Read about Salt Rising Bread Apricot Jam and more as Lynden women share favorites for readers and a weekly cook book is planned. Lynden High School announces a ten game basketball schedule starting November 28 with home games December 16 and February 10 among opponents Blaine Sumas Meridian Ferndale and Nooksack.
W A Fisher of Lynden was elected president of the Whatcom County High School Athletic Association at a Saturday meeting held at the courthouse. Other officers include H H Ewing vice president Victor M Aitken secretary and Forrest Beck treasurer. The eight teams are split into two divisions for a two games against same division and one against the other. The county title will be decided in a three game series.
Miss Kate Den Adel of Pella Iowa is visiting relatives and friends in Lynden during a personal trip.
Six Lynden couples traveled to Blaine Thursday evening for a birthday party honoring Mrs. Harry Walters. Attendees included Mr and Mrs Ray Slade Mr and Mrs George Waples Mr and Mrs Harry Fountain Mr and Mrs W Yeoman Dr and Mrs F L Wood and Dr and Mrs O A Sand.

The lower floor serves as a gym while upper rooms host quieter games as Frank Alexander Will Meurer and others assist. Initial $400 donation from First National Bank funds equipment and future subscriptions will cover running costs.
Richard R. Zylstra, a Lynden resident, operates a high power wireless station on Liberty Street. He receives messages from Alaska to Mexico and up to 1,000 miles offshore and offers time and government weather reports to locals. He is sworn to secrecy on sensitive matters. Alma Ecker hosts Klatawa Club gathering with Miss Renzella Brune guest Mrs. Ritchie now in New Westminster visiting Lynden relatives. Mrs. Vander Griend hosts birthday anniversary at home with relatives and friends.
Mrs Ed Vander Hoef of Belling ham spent the weekend with her parents Mr and Mrs A E Rusco in a family visit.
