Poultry Association to Increase Stock in Seattle Vote

Washington Cooperative Eye and Poultry Association stockholders will vote next Tuesday in Seattle on raising capital stock from 100000 to 250000 to finance feed poultry dressing and storage projects. Lynden is to host a large dressing plant and train shipments to members continue.

Art Boehringer of Lynden set to face Louis Hisemob of North Dakota in a return bout at Hawley's Hall Thursday evening March 31. Boehringer won their prior encounter last month and expects another victory with ladies admitted free.

Lyceum course planned with four acts for next year

R B Le Cocq gave a talk on Guides to the Purchase of Property. A four act Lyceum season is planned with a Shakepearean piece among the numbers. The Sophomore program featured St Patrick verses by Verl Fry. Baseball practice grows as Ferndale arrives April 1 with coaches Fisher and Rockey guiding hopeful players.

Father of Mrs. Alverson Dies in Seattle

L. A. Treen, father of Mrs. D. W. Alverson of Lynden, died Tuesday night in Seattle. He will be joined by Mrs. Alverson in Seattle Friday for the funeral services.

Noah Beilharz, celebrated entertainer, will present The Hoosier School Master as the final act of the high school lyceum. The comedy starts at 8:00 PM in the high school auditorium with admission 65 and 35 cents.

Big Lynden Laurel road case goes to trial Friday

The Lynden Laurel road assessments protest moves to the superior court in Bellingham Friday and Saturday with near 200 district residents as plaintiffs. They seek to overturn the present improvement roll and require a new one. Objections target a 35000 dollar Nooksack bridge item and related costs. A separate suit seeks release from payment, arguing no benefit from the project.

H. L. Blancher of the Rainier National Park Company toured Lynden this week to discuss summer visits. Local residents plan trips to Mt. Rainier this year as an excellent automobile road to the mountain is now open.

Mrs Ethel Parrish of Tacoma and Sergeant Harlan J Foster of Camp Lewis were married Tuesday in Olympia. Parrish is the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs M M Horton of Lynden. Foster is a regular in the 59th CAC and heir of the late J N Foster of Detroit. The couple will visit Lynden Sunday before returning to the cantonment.

Mary Jane Heathcoat Dies at 69 Near Lynden

Mrs. Mary Jane Heathcoat, age 69, died at her home northwest of Lynden on Tuesday. Funeral services are set for Friday at Hay Nie.

Lynden Grade School Team Wins Eight Straight Games

Lynden grade basketball team completed the season with an eight straight win 43 to 9 over Ferndale. Key players included John Young guard Roland Sharen forward with a lineup featuring Dale Henry center and Sherman Whited forward. Several players rotated as substitutes and reserves contributed throughout the season.

Friends Honor Wilson Silver Wedding With Surprise Party

Mr and Mrs O E Wilson celebrated their twenty fifth wedding anniversary with a surprise party at their home on Sunday March 20. Whatcom High School claims the Western Washington championship but declines Lynden's two game challenge. Whatcom beat Blaine on their floor, while Lynden and Meridian defeated Blaine. Whatcom plans a series with Yakima as Western Washington tournament winners.

Little Daughter of Geo. Cole Dies in Bellingham

Funeral services were held at Lynden cemetery for Josephine Ellen Cole the one year ten months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo H Cole who died at the family home in Bellingham after a brief illness. Rev Duncan McPhail officiated. She is survived by her parents two sisters Ruth and Marian and one brother Jack Byron Cole.
