Bellingham Bay Baptists Convene in Lynden Three Day Session

The Bellingham Bay Baptist Association meets in Lynden at the Baptist Church for a three day convention with delegates from Whatcom Skagit and San Juan counties. Rev Myron Cooley of Lynden presides as moderator and the program includes sermons, Bible studies, evangelism talks and an officers election.

Plans to Sell Lynden Chautauqua Tickets

Arrangements for selling Lynden Chautauqua season tickets were made at a guarantors meeting with a Chautauqua company representative. The event features a prominent war topics program and local guarantors expect swift ticket disposal. Key guarantors include Mark Hammond, E. Edson, Geo. Worthen, Dr. B. V. The W C T U held an all day institute at the M E Church on Thursday. Mrs Mary E Brown state president gave talks. Rev Myron Cooley delivered an address. Lunch was served at noon with musical items including piano solos duets and trios by Tremain Handy Pace Biehler and Ferguson.

Lynden Republicans to Select Delegates for County Meeting

Lynden Republicans from precincts one and two plan meetings at local venues this Thursday to choose delegates for the county convention in Bellingham on June 22. Lynden High School hosts a Friday 7 p m session for Lynden school club members with Superintendent W A Fisher presiding. Miss Ethel Everett will attend.

The Nooksack River Improvement Club will complete its organization in Bellingham Saturday at one o'clock. All farmers along the river are urged to attend a meeting at the Chamber of Commerce rooms to discuss funds for river improvement.

Farmers Mutual Telephone Co. stockholders approve directors’ rebuilding plan

At the annual meeting in Bellingham stockholders endorsed the directors actions to rebuild lines damaged in the silver thaw and to improve the system. They re elected the same board and heard that near thirty five thousand dollars has been spent to rebuild and upgrade the network.

Lynden Christian School Holds Closing Program

The Lynden Christian School closed its seven year era with a Friday program at the Fair Grounds. Mer ry games, drills, and songs followed formal entertainment. Recitations were given by Jake Dykstra August Zoet Benjamin Zylstra Gertie Bajema Margaret Ottens Winnie Bode Cornelius Van Leeuwen and principal Jerry Albers delivered a farewell address. John Slatemaker spoke for the school.

Farewell Reception for Fred De Hoogh Held by church group

A farewell reception was held Tuesday night by the Christian Endeavor Society of the Reformed Church on Grover Street for Fred De Hoogh. He leaves today for Pullman to begin training for his army work.

Pretty Wedding Solemnized at Gerrit Top Residence

A home wedding was solemnized Thursday at 8 30 in the Gerrit Top residence as Anna Top wed Isaac G Neeves with Rev H K Palma officiating. The ceremony featured maidenhair fern roses and snow bells, with Minnie E Schuyleman as bridesmaid and George Neeves as best man. A luncheon for sixty followed.
