Lynden Defeats Deming 7–3 In Weekend Matchup
Lynden’s baseball team beat Deming 7 to 3 at Deming Sunday in a hot season test. Deming used a hired lefty pitcher described as a second Cannon as Lynden’s infield and fielding produced sensational plays including Steinhauer’s backward sprint grab and Meurer’s two catches in one inning. Last Thursday in Jamieson’s opera house Lynden’s first graduating class received diplomas Vera Robins and Bessie Taylor led by Rev. Wilder with music from Lynden Glee Club and the Ireland sisters. Principal A N French praised the class for establishing Lynden as an accredited four year high school and outlined financial limits on building a permanent home. Professor Elmer Cave and Mr Green spoke on state heritage and duties to the home and state, stressing education, community progress, and the role of the school in shaping future citizens.
