Lynden Council Vacates Portions of First Street and West Main

Lynden's town council votes to vacate parts of First Street and West Main Street after land exchanges with the Milwaukee Railroad to straighten Park Street. Property gains go to L. A. Jones and E. L. Bartlett and sale proceeds support the city park fund. The ordinance outlines vacated parcels and hearing notices from May 1922.

Nelson 46 Dies After Nine Months Illness

Swan H Nelson former Lynden district resident died at his Bellingham home Tuesday after a nine month illness. He lived in Whatcom County eleven years and in Bellingham eighteen months. Survived by widow Anna and five sons Elmer Arthur Verner Carl and Harry, plus two brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon.

Service Held For Mrs. Wilhelmina Schuyleman in Lynden

Funeral services were held at the Reformed Church for Wilhelmina Schuyleman born March 28 1865 in Rotterdam. She married Gerard Schuyleman Oct 17 1872 and had eleven children. She moved from several states before settling in Lynden in 1907 and died May 31 leaving six relatives and three daughters plus two sons.

Orders inspection of rural routes in Whatcom County

An order has been issued for a Department investigation of rural mail service in the northern half of Whatcom County Washington to consider re districting for better patron facilities. Lynden Milk Sent to Far Armenia

Lynden shipped a ton and a half of powdered milk to far Armenia to aid starving children. The donation was funded by Lynden’s War Chest Fund Committee and prepared at the Lynden plant of the Whatcom County Dairymen’s Association. It will be sent via the Atlantic seaboard to the Near East.

The J. D. Jager family moved to the Tom Young place at 702 Glenning St. Tom Young moved to the Knutzen farm at the city limits on Grover St. The Knutzen family moved to the Pangborn residence, who will relocate to California. Harry Stuurman bought the J. D. Jager home at 202 B. C. Ave. and will relocate there with his family.

Car Crashes Through Barn After Gas Pedal Slip

Mr. F. Van Aalsburg nearly had a serious accident Saturday when he pressed the gas instead of the brake. The car rammed the barn, breaking the windshield and badly damaging the top while Mrs. Van Aalsburg injured her back.
