The method includes cutting when in bloom, burning tops, deep plowing in July, repeated shallow cultivation up to September, then planting a cultivated crop the following year. With careful execution, patches may be eliminated and weeds kept in check for years, though some persist. rotation and moisture timing are key.

Lynden Pioneer Woman Lucy Maltby Laid to Rest in Seattle
Lucy A. Maltby a Lynden district pioneer died in Seattle at 72 from injuries when her car collided with a street car on Beacon Hill last January. She lived in Lynden 1888 to 1892 later ran the National Hotel in Seattle and after 1906 managed hotels with her husband who died in 1906. Survived by son Harold Maltby Seattle sister Martha Yeaton Seattle and brothers Roscoe and John Brown Bangor Missouri.

Cattle Tuberculosis Tests Find 16 Reactors in Whatcom County
