Mrs Eliza J Austin Dies at Home Near Lynne
Mrs Wiliza Jane Austin died suddenly at her home northeast of Lynne Monday evening. Funeral services are set for 10 o clock this morning from the family residence with Rev Paus H Ashby officiating. She had suffered asthma for some time but was not gravely ill. She grew worse after taking sick Monday evening and died before doctors or daughters could reach her.

Durhan Seeks State Superintendent Nomination Visits Lynden
M. E. Durham, longtime superintendent of King County Schools, announced his Republican bid for State Superintendent of Public Instruction at the September primaries. He toured Lynden on Friday and spoke to the State Press Association in Ellensburg this month where he was dubbed the famous Pull Durham. A Colorado native, he trained in Kansas and completed a University of Washington degree in 1894 before a lifelong career in rural and city schools.

Man trapped by vat cover at Creamery injures arm
