Will distribute fair premium list for Whatcom County Fair

The 1915 Whatcom County Fair premium list will be distributed next week by Geo. W. Frick secretary of the Association. The booklet is on the press with expanded awards across most departments. A milking contest offers a gold watch to the premier cow owner and entrants should notify Frick.

Shriners Welcome at Bellingham Dock as Ferry Returns

Several thousand people and hundreds of autos gathered at the Bellingham dock to greet Shriners. The crowd learned the boat had sailed back to Seattle from Anacortes. The state highway commission awarded Charles E. Lind of Bellingham a $12,186.80 contract to clear, grade, and drain a 2.75 mile Pacific highway segment between Custer and Enterprise.

Lynden Library Expands With 1108-Book Collection

Lynden Public Library now houses 1108 books with 48 added last week and monthly purchases planned. Family memberships cost 1 and allow two books out for two weeks with renewal. non members pay five cents per book. New titles include works by Conner, Gray, Bronte, Cooper, London, and Conan Doyle among others. E Edson donated 35 volumes including five Bret Harte sets and two Conan Doyle sets.

W R C Notes Corps Meeting And Upcoming Dinner

The W R C notes a small attendance with several absences and welcomes Mrs Warlow who was initiated. Updates on Comrades Bayes and Biddell are given, and a report on the G A R and WA C encampment at Centralia is read. A July 31 dinner at the hall is announced inviting all old soldiers.

The B B and B C road will build through to Spokane at once. Amended articles of incorporation will be filed with the county auditor this week for the extension. The line will extend Lynden to Blaine. The Nightingale Singing Class honored leader Mr Nick Boerhage with a surprise party at his home and presented a Morris chair. Chas Bateman will begin building a new home next week. Harry Fountain George Cole and Peter Dunnick with T J Storrey as guide plan a bear hunt in the mountains next week.

Stage hourly service expands Lynden Bellingham routes

The Lynden Bellingham auto stage field adds hourly service with 75 cent round trips. Lynden Livery and McGinnis Mock adjust schedules with multiple daily departures and a Saturday round trip. H Lavenhart and Fred Kramer add a seven passenger car, while a new Lynden Westminster BC line opens with 125 fare and 10:15 am arrival.

Lyn jen party tours Pacific coast fishing voyage tale

A Cohasset beach gathering last week returned Monday night with a boss fish story. They saw a forty five foot fish said to swallow a prophet, pulled from the Pacific near the whale plant at Cohasset. The trip visited Seattle Tacoma and other points with a large party including the Knapp and Frick families among others.
