Lynden Washington town council approves Ordinance No. 183 requiring all homes and businesses to display numbers by July 15. The Water Superintendent will assign numbers starting at 100 with even numbers on the right and odd on the left and will maintain records. Violators face up to 10 dollars fine. costs may be billed to property owners and water may be shut off until paid.

Hot Weather Delays Lynden Train on Milwaukee Line
Severe delays hit the Lynden Chicago Milwaukee railway when extreme heat bent rails on the line forcing the train to return to Everson for a section crew to straighten the track. The incident narrowly avoided a serious accident as the train traversed the hot track at moderate speed.
