People's State Bank Opens in Temporary Quarters
The People's State Bank began operations Friday in temporary space at the R. L. Averill Jewelry Store with J. W. Stearns as manager. Chinese Egg Law Approved by Court
The Washington State Supreme Court upheld the Chinese egg law as constitutional. Poultrymen from Lynden and the Washington Co-Operative Egg and Poultry Association funded the legal fight, and restaurants and bakeries must display a four inch high sign that foreign eggs are used. The law will take effect in about thirty days and enforces country of origin on foreign eggs including powdered and frozen.

The Lynden Creamery operated by Whatcom County Dairymen's Association churned 1,4696 pounds of butter in December doubling the December 1919 result of 51,092 pounds. Lynden hens continue to perform well in the big egg-laying contest at the Puyallup Experiment Station. The Harry Walters pen now listed under J. W. Stearns ranks tenth for the two month period, with Laymore Farm at twelfth with 228 eggs, two behind Walters. Ray Slade’s pen has 200 eggs for the period.
